Rochester, NY - Jul. 23, 2001 – Dimension Technologies Inc. (DTI) announced today that its three dimensional TFT LCD displays are now supported by NVIDIA 3D stereo drivers. The long-awaited and just released NVIDIA 3D Stereo driver provides support for DTI 3D LCD Displays, according to NVIDIA’s Web site. When the new NVIDIA 3D Stereo drivers are used in conjunction with the newly released NVIDIA Detonator Software and any card in the whole family of TNT, GeForce and Quadro-based graphics cards, many hundreds of computer games can now be played in real depth 3D. Even games which were not originally developed for 3D viewing can now be seen in real depth 3D, as they are automatically converted from mono to stereo by the NVIDIA software. In general, any game developed using DirectX or OpenGL APIs will run in real 3D. NVIDIA recommends only two products as requirements for the new NVIDIA 3D Stereo capability. One is shutter glasses. The other is DTI 3D LCD displays – which of course do not require glasses or any other cumbersome viewing aid.
