Rochester, NY – Oct. 4, 2004 - Dimension Technologies Inc. (DTI) announced today the availability of VR4MAX Release 4 from Tree C Technology. VR4MAX Release 4 is now out with many new and improved features. Some of the highlights include: VR Conferencing VR Conferencing is a great tool for collaboration. It can be used for project reviews based on interactive 3D models with several people without having to be at the same location. This release introduces VR4MAX Conferencing Lite: a special publisher generates an executable which not only contains the models and navigation tools but also information about its master. This executable can be emailed, downloaded or distributed in another way. When double clicked by the receiver, it finds its way back through the network or Internet back to its master and connects to it. From that point on the master can show his audience of multiple clients around in his work. There is no software installation needed at the client site. VR4MAX Conferencing Pro will allow the conferencing client to have freedom of movement with the master. This feature will be released as an update under Release 4. 3ds max 7 and 8 support VR4MAX Release 4 has full support for the recently released 3ds Max 8. Improved multi threaded rendering engine VR4MAX Navigator based products (Navigator Pro, Exhibitor, and Navigator Lite) are now based on the same render engine technology as VR4MAX Extreme, which is now using advanced multi threading technology. Improved GUI for all Navigator based products VR4MAX Extreme, VR4MAX NavigatorPro, VR4MAX Exhibitor and VR4MAX Navigator Lite now all share the same user friendly graphical user interface, and all Property dialogs now display detailed help information on the object at hand and its properties. Antialiasing The Startup Options dialog has a new Antialiasing tab that allows you to switch between rendering without antialiasing, or 2x and 4x antialiasing. Improved stereo support Advanced stereo now supports Dimension Technology Inc. (DTI) no-glasses 2D/3D switchable desktop displays. You can swap your left and right eye which comes in handy when working with back projections and reversed stereo. The new automatic convergence distance feature automatically adjusts the distance between the avatar and the nearest object in the viewing direction of the avatar. And in addition you can link the eye separation to the eye convergence distance: the ratio between eye separation and eye convergence distance is maintained constant. New and powerfull 2D objects in the 3D View The range of HUD (short for Head Up Display) objects allowing you to add 2D elements to the 3D View is extended with HUD Text Dial objects allowing you 5b4 to add free formatted 2D text items to your 3D View, and HUD View objects that will give you picture-in-picture like views in which the scene is rendered as observed by a camera in your scene. New VR4MAX® Helper Objects A large number of new VR4MAX® Helper Objects, such as user defined clipping planes, object property actions, and helpers to manage run-time registers (variables) will help you add more interaction and intelligence to your models with less effort.
